Answer:  “One of my greatest strengths is that I am a diligent worker. I care about the work getting done. I am always willing to help others in the team. Being patient helps me not jump to conclusions. Patience helps me stay calm when I have to work under pressure. Being a diligent worker ensures that the team has the same goals in accomplishing certain things.”

 

2. How can you control the pH value in the open pond?

 

How to answer:   The hiring manager asks this question to test whether you are handy with the experiment in this department. In your answer, demonstrate how prepared you are to handle any future challenge should any occur.

 

Answer:  “The environmental sustainability should be considered, thus, endemic/endangered species protection should be taken under provision while applying such strong chemical agents. I try the simplest way to control Spirulina culture pH in the open pond (Instead of using CO2). As to get good spirulina, the pH of pond  mentioned by appropriate alkaline solutions around 8.5 pH.”

 

3.     What is the best method to remove the calcium carbonate from the soil?

                                                          

How to answer:  The response you give to this question determines how knowledgeable you are in this field. Be confident in your response and keep it brief is there a modern method to remove carbonate minerals from a soil sample to conduct an X-ray examination.

 

Answer:   The safe way to get rid of carbonates in the soil is using acidified sodium acetate with glacial acetic acid to have a pH (4.5-5), to preserve the clay particles from breaking down if hydrochloric acid is used for removal.”

 

Not every question you will encounter when interviewing for a limnologist’s position will be related to scientific knowledge and decision-making skills that will help protect lakes around the world. But those are the common topics interviewer can ask for selecting qualified candidates.
